Nobody wants to have to appeal a lower court decision - or defend an adversary’s appeal. But a successful appeal starts with strategy in the lower court, and framing the factual and legal issues with the possibility of an appeal in mind. Whether we represent you on appeal after we represent you in the lower court, or we monitor the conduct of your case while you are represented by trial counsel, we can conduct your appeal from start to finish or assist your trial counsel with a fresh eye.
Craig Albert has handled appeals at every level in the state and federal systems. Among them:
- He argued an appeal in the United States Supreme Court involving the jurisdiction of federal courts over cases involving companies organized in the former British Crown Colonies
- He wrote an appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit involving prosecutorial misconduct in describing for the jury the contents of secret grand jury proceedings
- He argued an appeal in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York that created new and stricter requirements for the decisionmaking process in issuing liquor licenses
